What is your cultural background?

I was born in Australia and my parents migrated to Australia in 1969. My mother originates from Lebanon and my father from Syria

How has Australia’s diverse culture impacted on the foods you cook?

An example would be our home cooking, when we sit for dinner we have a selection of dishes from different sides of the world Italian, Middle Eastern, Asian, Australian. It's because we have different cultures within our family and i think that represents the Australian in us all, and how diverse we are.

What role does food play in bringing cultures together?

Food is its own language, it helps to give people an understanding of the culture and what they represent.

Why do you think it’s important to learn about and understand the different cultures of the people you work with?

It’s all about knowledge, diversity and harmony, if we can embrace this we are so much more powerful as humans.

Why should Australians get involved with A Taste of Harmony?

A Taste of Harmony echoes Australia’s diversity and rich culture in foods and nationalities. We should always celebrate this.
