A Taste of Harmony celebrates its biggest ever year!

March 23, 2015

This year over 5,000 workplaces celebrated A Taste of Harmony, which makes it our biggest event ever! We would like to thank each and every one of you for throwing your support behind workplace cultural diversity and celebrating in the most delicious way.

A huge thank you must also go to the event sponsors, Commonwealth Bank, Target, Dentsu Aegis Network, Veolia, Australian Multicultural Foundation, ANZ, Australia Post and Woolworths for their outstanding support.

It has been wonderful to see stories and photos sent in from A Taste of Harmony events around Australia. We have gathered together a few of the best ones to share with you.

Bennelong Foundation
The Bennelong Foundation took its staff on a tour of the Melbourne Immigration Museum to learn about Australia’s multicultural history. Staff then made their way back to the Bennelong office for a catered lunch by social enterprise, Charcoal Lane. The team listened to an Indigenous Australian trainee’s story about his cultural heritage, as they sampled a variety of modern Australian dishes with an Indigenous Australian twist.

CDC Victoria
CDC Victoria’s Altona Depot encouraged its drivers to dress up in their national costumes as they completed their bus runs to celebrate A Taste of Harmony. The drivers agreed that the event was a great opportunity for them to learn about others’ cultures and felt proud to be able to drive the buses in their traditional attire.

Bunnings Hawthorn
Bunnings Hawthorn had lots of fun and games at their A Taste of Harmony event. The team downloaded and printed the trivia quiz from the online Event Hub and gave out chocolate frogs to everyone who answered the questions correctly. They also printed off the world map and placed stickers on the countries their dishes originated from. Other fun games included printing off a selection of flags from the online flag generator and guessing which country it belonged to.

If you had a special event, we’d love to hear about it! You can send your stories and photos through to contact@tasteofharmony.org.au.
