Celebrating harmony in schools

March 12, 2015

We can't wait to see classrooms around Australia looking vibrant and festive for A Taste of Harmony!

To help out, we have compiled our first ever A Taste of Harmony guide for schools, available on the promotional tools page of the Event Hub. The guide contains some great lesson and activity ideas with recommendations on how to use some of our decorations and activities in the classroom.

Harmony Day has also released a fantastic online resource with detailed lesson plans tied to curriculum for teachers to utilise.

If you are a parent or guardian, encourage your school to register for A Taste of Harmony and keep an eye-out for the kids’ homework which will ask them to speak with you about their ancestry. Whether they were born overseas, or your family has been in Australia for years, everyone has a story to share. As you start planning your workplace A Taste of Harmony event, get your kids involved too!
