Australia Post

As one of Australia’s largest employers we are proud to have such a culturally and linguistically diverse workforce and our people truly reflect the rich diversity of the community we serve.  Our focus is on building a more inclusive workforce by breaking down the language and cultural barriers so new Australians are able to access gainful employment and actively participate in our community.

Australia Post understands the importance of attracting and retaining talented people from diverse backgrounds who bring a range of viewpoints and ideas with different skills and experiences.  At Australia Post we have made a significant investment in training and development to equip our people with the skills that will be increasingly required as our core business continues to change.

Through a number of key initiatives and strategic partnerships Australia Post aims to help people gain a sense of belonging and empowerment by providing mentors, work placement opportunities and connecting individuals and communities through their love of football.

A Taste of Harmony is a much celebrated event at Australia Post that supports our key CALD initiatives for our workforce such as culture awareness training, English language, literacy and numeracy skills and our inclusive policies.

At Australia Post we believe that understanding, embracing and celebrating diversity is incredibly important, and helps to ensure we have greater respect for each other and our respective cultures.  A Taste of Harmony is a simple and engaging way to embrace cultural diversity at Australia Post and we celebrate this event nationally in our retail outlets, facilities and office locations.

“Sharing food and experiencing new flavours is one of the great pleasures of life. At Australia Post, we are thrilled to participate in A Taste of Harmony, as a practical and enjoyable way of celebrating the many different cultures that contribute, every day, to our business. By sharing food in this way, we are effectively initiating a conversation that inevitably leads to greater cultural understanding, appreciation and harmony.”
